I was born in Dallas and have lived here most of my life. I am one of five children, and family has always been very important to me. I wanted to be a doctor from the time I was 4 years old, and I remember making hospital rounds as a child with my father, a Dallas internist.
I attended Highland Park High School, where I was a percussionist in the band and served as drum major in my senior year. I am also pleased to have achieved the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts. I attended Baylor University and then moved on the San Antonio for medical school. It was there that I met and married a medical school classmate. We met over a cadaver! Her maiden name was Miller, so we were always assigned to the same small group.
My wife, Mary, stayed home to raise our three children. Now that they are grown, she takes my place at the office each Thursday. Rachel, our oldest, graduated from the University of Tulsa before spending two years in Zurich, Switzerland. She has a Master’s degree in Education and teaches elementary school in McKinney now. William graduated from Trinity in San Antonio with a degree in biochemistry. He is currently attending seminary as he discerns the priesthood. My youngest, Andrew, is currently pursuing a combined business and engineering degree.
We have been parishioners at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community in McKinney, TX since January of 1998. We are very active in that community in various ministries. My sole desire in life is to have been a “good and faithful servant,” despite my many faults.
