Born and raised in West Texas, I started my college career at Baylor University. I married my high school sweetheart, Bill Shouse, and we both graduated from Texas Tech University. After graduation we moved to Denver, I received my second Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. In Denver I worked as a Certified Medical Technologist for the University of Colorado Medical Center Hospital. Later we moved back to Texas and I went to the Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. During medical school I loved surgery and dermatology, but Pediatrics won my heart! I completed pediatric residency training at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
Dr. Phyllis Stone and I started Pediatric Associates of Plano. Since then we added 3 additional partners, and Phyllis has retired. Every day I work hard to provide each patient with the best possible medical care, in a nurturing environment. In my practice I strive to provide a happy blend of providing healthy preventive care, restoring sick children back to health, and helping parents with the challenge of raising their precious children. Having had two wonderful children of my own helps me empathize with parents.
Newborn care is one of my favorite areas of pediatrics. I love celebrating with new parents. Really every baby is a miracle and a gift from God! Parenting is a skill that I hope to nurture at each visit. I do believe in preventive care with immunizations. I was honored to be listed in D Magazine’s BEST DOCTORS in Dallas – 2014.
I love to garden and travel, Hawaii being my favorites. And my newest love is my first grandbaby!
I hope to meet you soon! Call for an interview, or your first appointment! We have an awesome staff ready to serve you. It would be my honor to become your child’s pediatrician!
