Warning! New Infant Acetaminophen

The New Infant Acetaminophen Drops are here now, and you may notice that the concentration and measuring dropper are different than before!!

All manufacturers will be using the same concentration(160 mg per 5 ml). The Old Infant Acetaminophen drops were 3 X stronger. (If your Concentrated Infant Drops are almost empty, I would recommend that you discard it and buy the new one.)

Both new and old products may be on the store shelf, and possible on your medicine shelf, at the same time. So it is very important to use the correct dosing amount and correct dosing device for the acetaminophen concentration you are using.

These changes will be to standardize dosing and help reduce medication errors. If you have any questions, call your pharmacist or our office. We will be glad to help you!
